Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper or non-stick spray.
In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla and mix until well combined.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Add the chocolate chips and mix until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form small balls of dough and place them on the baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie for them to expand as they bake.
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the trays for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
