Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • 2 oranges (juice and zest)
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, to thicken the sauce)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped chives to decorate (optional)

Instructions:

Season the chicken fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

Heat some olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken tenders until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.

In the same pan, add the orange juice, the zest of one orange, sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook the mixture over medium heat until it begins to thicken slightly.

If you want a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water and add it to the pan, stirring constantly until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.

Return the chicken tenders to the pan and cook them in the sauce for a few more minutes, making sure to coat them well with the sauce and heat them through.

Serve the orange chicken accompanied by white rice or steamed vegetables. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped chives if desired.

Enjoy this delicious orange chicken dish!
