POTATO PIE WITH MEAT

Instructions:

Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces. Cook them in salted water until they are soft. Drain and mash with a little butter and hot milk. Reserve.

In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil and add the onion, garlic, carrot and red pepper. Cook over medium heat until the vegetables are tender.

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the meat or chicken broth to the meat and vegetable mixture. Cook over low heat until the liquid reduces slightly and a thick sauce forms.

In a greased baking dish, place a layer of mashed potatoes on the bottom. Then, add the meat and vegetable mixture as a second level.

Cover the meat mixture with another layer of mashed potatoes. Sprinkle grated cheese on top if you want a touch of gratin.

Bake the potato and meat pie at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before cutting and serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if you wish. Enjoy hot.
