Dessert Recipe for 4th of July - The Flavorful Journey

Fourth of July will be here before we know it! Maybe you are heading to a cookout with friends, a pool party, a firework show, or maybe you are hosting everyone at your house for the big day.

Aside from the fireworks, dessert is one of my favorite parts of this exciting holiday. Hello sparklers.

Ingredients for Making Easy 4th of July Cookie Bars

Cookie Base Ingredients

1 c unsalted butter (at room temperature)
4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
1 ¾ c sugar
2 ½ c flour
2 large eggs, whites and yolks
1 additional egg white
2 t vanilla extract
½ t baking powder
1 t salt
red and blue sprinkles, a total of 1/2 cup

Icing Ingredients

¾ c unsalted butter (at room temperature)
1 t vanilla extract
¼ t salt
2 c powdered sugar
